Grounded in LA — Support, Respect, Opportunity Enter
Exterior rendering of the Grounded in LA building in Los Angeles

Stable ground for every stage of renewal.

Grounded in LA develops single-room-occupancy housing built for dignity — homes designed alongside the nonprofits, providers, and communities working to keep Los Angeles housed.

Why we build

Housing as a foundation, not a transaction.

100%
Mission-driven

Los Angeles doesn't have a shortage of compassion — it has a shortage of the right rooms in the right hands. Grounded in LA exists to close that gap, one building at a time, with permanent affordability and community ownership at the center.

We're a real estate developer that thinks like a partner. Our homes are designed for the people doing the hard, human work of recovery, reentry, and stability — and for the organizations and investors standing beside them.

Support
Spaces and operations built around what residents and providers need to succeed — and partners and investors kept informed, supported, and close to the work.
Respect
Dignity by design for residents — private rooms, real bathrooms, a say in how the community runs — and transparency and straight talk for everyone who backs the mission.
Opportunity
Affordability that stays, and equity-based collaboration over extraction — a model where doing right by the community and creating lasting value move in the same direction.

Our impact

More than a roof.

Every room we build is more than a roof. It's a door that locks, an address for a job application, and a stable place to heal, recover, and rebuild. Behind each one is a person doing hard, human work — and a community that grows stronger when they succeed.

Housing is the foundation. But the first weeks in a new home are often the hardest — a bed, basic supplies, a warm meal, the small things that turn four walls into a place to belong.

Giving is built in

Each year, Grounded in LA contributes to a selected nonprofit serving our residents and the wider community. If you'd like to join us in supporting this year's organization, reach out — we'd love to have you contribute alongside us.
